We are happy to help support a project through Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Souderton and the Rotary Club of Santa Barbara, Honduras.

In 2020, two Category 4 hurricanes – Eta and Iota — made landfall in Central America on Nov. 3 and Nov. 17, respectively. Even today, the region continues to dig out from mudslides. Aid agencies say nearly 7 million people in a zone stretching from Colombia to Mexico are in need of assistance.  Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Souderton heard this cry for assistance and has been partnering with Jessmy Trochez and her team to send supplies in shipping containers.

Our club had the pleasure of presenting a check to help towards the final amount needed to send the supplies.  We also enjoyed meeting Braydon who is a representative of the Rotary Club of Santa Barbara, Honduras and cousin to a local Souderton resident.

Braydon presented our Club with a plaque. Though he spoke no English and we spoke no Spanish, together we recited the 4-Way Test. It was a beautiful moment that exemplified the global connection of Rotary. Thank you to everyone who supported this project.
